Introduction

The Health Economist is responsible for generating and applying economic evidence to support decision-making within the managed care environment. This role focuses on evaluating the cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and value of healthcare interventions, benefits, and delivery models to optimise clinical outcomes while ensuring financial sustainability.Duties&Responsibilities

Health Economic Evaluation Conduct cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, cost-benefit, and budget impact analyses of healthcare interventions, medicines, and programmes. Develop and maintain economic models to assess value for money across treatment pathways and care models. Support health technology assessments (HTA) and formulary decision-making processes.2. Data Analysis&Research Analyse large-scale healthcare datasets (claims, utilisation, outcomes, provider performance). Design and execute observational studies and real-world evidence analyses. Interpret trends in healthcare costs, utilisation, and patient outcomes. 3. Managed Care Strategy Support Provide economic insights to inform:

Benefit design Provider reimbursement models (e.g., capitation, bundled payments) Risk-sharing and value-based care initiatives

Support resource allocation and cost-containment strategies. 4. Policy&Regulatory Alignment Monitor healthcare policy, reimbursement frameworks, and regulatory changes. Ensure economic evaluations align with national guidelines and funder requirements. Contribute to policy submissions and stakeholder engagements. 5. Stakeholder Engagement&Communication Translate complex economic analyses into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. Present findings to senior leadership, clinicians, actuaries, and external partners. Support negotiations with providers, pharmaceutical companies, and other stakeholders. 6. Continuous Improvement&Innovation Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, affordability, and quality of care. Contribute to the development of value-based healthcare strategies. Stay current with advancements in health economics, modelling techniques, and data analytics. Desired Experience&Qualification

Qualifications&Experience Master’s or PhD in Health Economics, Public Health, Biostatistics, or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in health economics, preferably within managed care. Strong experience in economic modelling and health outcomes research. Experience working with real-world data and healthcare claims datasets is highly desirable.Technical Skills Proficiency in statistical and analytical tools (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, Python). Experience with economic modelling software (e.g., TreeAge or Excel-based models). Strong data visualisation and reporting skills (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Interested?
