Job Title: Citrus Fruit Trader

Job Description:

As a Fruit Trader, you will play a crucial role in the procurement, marketing, and sales of citrus fruits, with a particular emphasis on maintaining and growing our presence in the industry. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and contribute to the growth and success of our company locally and internationally. Main focus to develop and execute marketing strategies and procure fruit.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Research and Strategy Development:
   • Conduct in-depth research on the citrus industry to identify market trends, pricing dynamics, and demand fluctuations
   • Develop comprehensive marketing strategies for citrus products, and where applicable, table grapes
   • Monitor competitors and industry developments to identify opportunities and threats
2. Fruit Procurement:
   • Establish and maintain strong relationships with fruit suppliers and growers, with a particular focus on citrus
   • Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers
   • Ensure the procurement of high-quality citrus fruits, meeting the company's quality standards
3. Client and Customer Relationship Management:
   • Build and maintain relationships with marketing agents, clients, and customers
   • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
   • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to meet client and customer requirements
4. Sales, Distribution and Demand Planning

• Assist Category Manager to develop annual marketing and sales plan
• Plan and manage product demand according to predicted volumes

1. • Assist with the building of product availability plan and communicate clear product requirements
   • Maintain control over pack stock and movements
   • Work closely with the sales team to ensure the efficient distribution and delivery of fruit to clients and customers
   • Assist in sales efforts to increase market share and revenue
   • Monitor and manage inventory to meet customer demands and minimize waste

       5. Reporting and Analytics:

• • Prepare reports on sales performance, market trends, and supplier relationships
  • Analyze data to make informed decisions and drive improvements in the trading process
  • Compile, comprehensive reports to maintain active database management, to report on sales data

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, or a related field.

• 5 years relevant fruit industry experience or working in procurement / pack-house environment
• Excellent knowledge of the citrus industry with experience in fruit trading
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Proven ability to develop and execute successful marketing strategies
• Relationship-building and customer service skills
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
• Knowledge of Power BI (advantage)
