Accountant Job Description

The overall objective of the Accountant is to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions. Duties&Responsibilities

Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries. Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet profit and loss, and other statements. Analyzes financial trends. Monthly Finance Reporting. VAT Preparation and submissions.Manage weekly and monthly payments. Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors. Prepare Forecast costs and Revenues. Prepare Budgets. Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements. Secures financial information by completing database backups.Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential. Desired Experience&Qualification

Qualifications: Minimum of 5-7 years financial experience. Personal Qualities: Detail-oriented. Able to work well with a team and under pressure. Must be diligent and time competent in order to meet deadlines. Must be client service focused (internal clients/staff). Must be honest, reliable, and trustworthy.Be willing to work flexible hours. Be willing to perform duties on weekends. Be versatile and responsive to change. Languages Required:

English and Afrikaans.
