Senior Civil Engineer, Bloemfontein

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to oversee and add value to large construction projects in Bloemfontein. The ideal candidate will have a specialized focus on contracting-type work within the water sector, with a strong background in water demand management, water conservation, and Non-Revenue Water projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the planning and execution of large-scale construction projects with a focus on water-related infrastructure.

Manage projects related to pressure and network zone management, including the installation of reinforced concrete chambers, bulk water meters, pressure reducing valves, and related infrastructure.

Provide technical expertise in water demand management and water conservation, ensuring projects align with best practices in these areas.

Conduct feasibility studies, prepare detailed proposals, and compile reports.

Manage contract documentation, procurement processes, and contract administration in line with SAICE, GCC, and FIDIC standards.

Ensure project timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with statutory procedures.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.

Utilize advanced software tools, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D, to aid in the design and implementation of projects.

Qualifications:

Valid South African Driver’s License.

South African citizen or valid permit to work in South Africa.

Sc/B. Eng in Civil Engineering.

Professional Registration with ECSA (advantageous but not compulsory).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar field.

Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office Packages.

Experience with WADISO will be an advantage.

Demonstrated experience in water demand management, water conservation, and Non-Revenue Water projects.

Experience in contract documentation and administration with SAICE, GCC, and FIDIC.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Ability to work independently and within a team, ensuring integration with other engineering disciplines.
