What We're Looking For:
The role of the Senior HRBP is to partner with senior leadership to advise, guide and support them in achieving their overall functional objectives. The Senior HRBP will act as a trusted partner and advisor to all levels of the organization, from staff level through to senior leadership level and will be responsible for implementing the people strategy in their business units. The Senior HRBP will implement company policies and procedures to ensure best practice and compliance within the company and the operations of partner universities.
Central to the Senior HRBP role, is to advocate for 2U's company culture by ensuring culture (and employee experience) is the central tenet in the choices we make and the advice HR provides to the company in maintaining a culture of inclusivity, accountability and trust.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- OD, Talent planning & Training:
- Partner with the business to ensure sustainable future growth by providing best practice guidance on: talent planning, change management and organizational structures
- Partner with business units to achieve succession planning by developing career pathing for key positions in line with our DEI strategy
- Work with business units to achieve annual training requirements in line with our workplace skills plan (WSP) which is submitted annually to the DoL via the annual training report (ATR)
- Data:
- Accurately track and maintain our data analytics sheets to ensure our Talent data is accurate and up to date at all times
- Report on data monthly to People leadership, highlighting trends and actionables to address any potential concerns, in line with the annual priority of leveraging data to drive analytic insights
- Create and run HR reports out of the HRIS system
- Employee Engagement:
- Assume full responsibility for the execution and reporting and action planning of the annual GPTW/Pulse engagements to ensure that leaders know how engaged their teams are and where there are areas for development
- Partner with business unit managers in CPT, UK and AUS to drive the company's overall annual priority of ‘maintaining 2U as a great place to work'
- Performance Management & Employee Relations:
- Act as an SME for employee relations matters
- Recommend and deliver appropriate disciplinary actions / sanctions to employees in line with 2U CT/UK/AUS disciplinary policy and relevant labour legislation
- Guide managers through the application of misconduct / incapacity and operational requirements processes to minimize risk by ensuring that actions are procedurally and substantively sound
- Provide ongoing coaching to employees on documented performance management concerns
- Conduct formal investigations, personally handle or guide resolution on a variety of complex ER matters
- Enhance existing performance improvement initiatives across the organization
- Implement a performance management system (MyCareer_ to cascade company goals through the departments to individual goals
- Compensation:
- Assume full responsibility for your allocated business units compensation, ensuring that compensation is fair and justified as per our compensation policy in partnership with the Senior Director Rewards.
- Inform HQ as and when JD's change to ensure that salary data (leveling & global compensation recommendation) is always up to date.
- Play an active role in making managers aware and working with managers to reduce compensation gaps through proactively addressing problematic discrepancies particularly in relation to internal equity (gender / race).
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
- Bachelor's degree in HRM and/or organizational psychology
- 5+ years experience in a HRBP or HR generalist role
- Solid understanding of regional labour law including: BCEA, LRA, EE, BBBEE and relevant Codes of Good Practices
- Experience in dealing with CCMA
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
