On-line English Teacher, Cape Town

Position details:

Starting Date: Immediate

Contract Length: Duration of SA's Covid-19 Lockdown (extensions and full time positions may be available based upon performance)

Location: Work from home

Scheduling: Peak teaching hours of 12h00 – 16h00 (South African Time)

Additional lessons could be available.

Students: Typically professionals over the age of 18

Training: Training and ongoing professional development will be provided

Remuneration: Base hourly rate R70.00 – R80.00 per hour + Performance bonuses.

Minimum requirements:

• Tertiary education
• Accredited CELTO, CELTA, TEFL, TESOL, TEYL or ESL certified (if not, must be willing to obtain certification within the first 3 months of employment. Company subsidised)
• Great command of the English language. (Accent neutral)
• Highly computer literate
• No criminal record
• South African Citizen
• Great communication skills
• Punctual
• Able to work shifts during the week and weekends

Technical requirements (non-negotiable)

• A quiet, clean, tidy and well-lit teaching environment
• PC specifications
  • Processor: Intel ® Core™ i3 CPU @3.70GHz (4 CPUs) or greater
  • Memory: 8GB RAM or greater
• Backup power (non-negotiable)
  • Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) with battery life up to 4-5 hours (or willing to purchase a UPS if you are hired) required during load shedding and power outages
• Internet connection:
  • Fibre connection
  • Minimum of 10 mbps upload and download speed
• Noise cancelling headset
• HD Camera with anti-glare features
