Description

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior Conveyancing Secretary to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in conveyancing, particularly in Development Transfers, and be capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment. If you are detail-oriented, proactive, and thrive under pressure, we would love to hear from you.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric qualification (essential).
  • Legal secretary, paralegal, or conveyancing qualification (advantageous).
  • 3-5 years of conveyancing experience, focusing on Development Transfers.
  • Proficiency in LexisConvey and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to confidently work 25-40 files per month 
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure, while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and meticulous approach to work.

Key Responsibilities: Development Transfer Transactions:

  • Manage all aspects of development transfer transactions from start to finish.
  • Draft and prepare transfer documents, including deeds, contracts, and agreements.
  • Coordinate with clients, attorneys, and relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of transfers.
  • Conduct title searches, due diligence, and property investigations when required.

Document Preparation & Management:

  • Prepare and review legal documents, correspondence, and reports with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for all conveyancing-related documents and records.
  • Ensure full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements throughout the conveyancing process.

Client Communication:

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on transaction progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, attorneys, and other parties involved in conveyancing matters.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide general administrative support to attorneys and conveyancers, including calendar management and meeting coordination.
  • Assist with billing, invoicing, and accounts reconciliation as required.

Skills and Attributes:

  • In-depth knowledge of conveyancing procedures, particularly in Development Transfers.
  • Proficiency in LexisConvey and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, client-facing demeanor.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
