Structural Engineer, Cape Town

An excellent opportunity has become available to join an established Engineering Company, as a Senior Structural Engineer. The role is based in the Cape Town.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Engineering (BEng)
• 5 - 10 years' experience as a Structural Engineer
• Competent in using Revit, Prokon design software and Microsoft software
• Be well familiar with the relevant SANS codes and Building Regulations
• Must have a driver's licence and car to travel to meetings and construction site
• Be able to work alone and in teams
• Be able to work fast and effectively
• Have good energy and passion to learn and grow his/her career

Responsibilities:

• Be the internal project leader for smaller to medium size projects.
• Manage other designers and drafts people on the project team, including review and providing guidance.
• Communicate and work together with the other role players on a project (clients, professionals, and contractors)
• Especially be able to workshop solutions with the architects.
• Conduct structural designs for reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber structures.
• Prepare structural drawings
• Prepare reinforcing bending schedules
• Conduct site inspection and attend contract meetings
• Assist the team to continually improve systems and processes
• Be an integral part of the business to ensure project and business success
