Industrial Refrigeration Commission Engineer, Cape Town

A large Industrial Refrigeration Manufacturing company is looking for an experienced candidate with experience gained in the Commissioning of HVAC systems.

Cape Town based.  Preferred candidate live in Cape Town

Responsibilities:

• Commissioning: Oversee the commissioning of industrial refrigeration systems, ensuring they are installed, tested, and operational according to specifications.

• Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure the ongoing efficiency and reliability of refrigeration systems.

• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with refrigeration systems, minimizing downtime and maintaining productivity.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of commissioning processes, maintenance activities, and system performance.

• Safety Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with relevant safety standards and regulations, including the handling of refrigerants.

• Project Management: Manage projects from start to finish, coordinating with other engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial refrigeration, with specific experience in commissioning and maintenance.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ammonia-based refrigeration systems, HVAC systems, and industrial cooling solutions.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex refrigeration issues.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients.

• Certifications: Relevant certifications in refrigeration engineering and safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Project Management: Experience with project management software and methodologies.

• Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
