Group Financial Manager
Our client is an esteemed engineering services company in the power generation, mining, and oil&gas sectors. They are looking for a proficient Group Financial Manager to join their team. Purpose of the role Reporting directly to the CFO, the Group Financial Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing all financial activities across the organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations with a high focus on optimizing financial performance and reporting. The role also provides strategic financial insights and support into different areas of the organization in order to support the CFO Office in the execution of overall business strategy, growth, and expansion.Desired Experience&Qualification
Experience and Competencies CA (SA) At least 5 to 8 years post articles experience preferable in either the areas of EPC, Project Management, Engineering, Construction, or Energy sectors, supported by demonstrable experience in a similar role. Financial Acumen. Deep understanding of financial principles.Advanced computer literacy. Strategic thinking to align financial goals with business objectives. Strong leadership skills to effectively manage teams. Analytical skills. Proficient in data analysis. Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal. Problem Solving. Root cause analysis.Strong attention to detail. Innovation and the utilization of technology. Integrity. Responsibilities
KPIs Finance Department Oversight and management of the group’s finance department and functions. Ensures effective review and outcome of KPI’s and training programmes, driven by strategy. Drives integration and coordination between internal departments. Key support to Senior accounting as well as project and cost accounting functions.Governance and Internal Control Maintain and implement internal controls, governance, and compliance to ensure the integrity of financial transactions. Implementing and maintaining effective risk management strategies to mitigate financial risks. Business processes Active participation in business processes optimization with effective outcomes to improve efficiency.Key support to project managers to ensure successful execution. Preparing month-end financial reports including external and internal stakeholders, such as the Board of Directors, shareholders, the Executive Committee, Divisional Profit&Loss owners, and Project Managers. Provides insights and analysis of monthly financial results. Preparation of budgets and rolling forecasts as process owner. Preparation of cash flow forecasts as process owner. Consolidation of the group results. Guide and assist internal stakeholders on revenue recognition requirements and principles in line with IFRS15 and stage of completion measurement principles.ERP and Business Reporting Tools Participate in the management of the ERP system. Utilization of the ERP system effectively to perform daily, monthly, and annual tasks. As custodian of the process, ensures that the financial data provided by the ERP is at all times accurate and reflective of commercially agreed terms and conditions, compliant with IFRS reporting requirements, relevant in terms of the business reporting requirements, and adheres to internal controls and governance rules.Applies innovative and technology-driven solutions to enable the ERP and Business reporting Tools to support the organization. Annual Audits Plans and executes the annual financial audit in conjunction with the external auditors. Maintain relationships with external auditors. Taxation Ensures compliance with tax laws and regulations.Performs and reviews Income Tax calculations for all companies in the group. Review of monthly VAT filings. Performs Dividend tax calculations. Coordination with external tax advisors. Assists in compliance with SARB regulations. Review and advise on implications of cross-border transactions.Insurance Participates in the review of the group insurance portfolio. Treasury Monitor banking and other key relationships. Assists in the review and assessment of terms and conditions of facilities. Enables the bonds and guarantee process. Ensures the effective functioning of the banking system.Utilization of the Banking platform effectively to execute transactions. CFO Office Assists the CFO in execution of strategy.
