R&D Project Engineer (Production Technology), Cape Town

Job Description

Design and prototype automated production systems and workflows

Integrate robotics for material handling, fastening, and finishing

Optimise CNC machinery, tooling, jigs, and fixtures

Improve factory layouts, production flow, and takt time

Lead hands‑on testing and pilot trials in an R&D environment

Support integration between production equipment and digital design systems

Skills&Experience

Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in manufacturing, automation, or process engineering

Strong CAD/CAM skills (SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or similar)

Experience with PLCs, sensors, or robotics

Hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset

Qualification

BEng/ BSc in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering

Masters advantageous

Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered
