Procurement Manager, Cape Town

Hire Resolves client in the Solar Energy Industry is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement process and ensure the efficient and cost‑effective acquisition of goods and services for their organization. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and managing the procurement team.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.

Manage the end‑to‑end procurement process, from supplier selection to contract negotiation and implementation.

Identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and maintain a database of approved suppliers.

Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and leverage this knowledge to achieve cost savings and process improvements.

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining quality standards.

Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements.

Monitor and manage supplier performance, conducting regular performance reviews and implementing corrective actions when necessary.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as finance, operations, and legal, to ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to forecast demand, plan procurement activities, and ensure an uninterrupted supply chain.

Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in procurement to continually improve processes and provide innovative solutions.

Requirements

BCom qualification.

Key player in supplier and subcontractor vetting procedures alongside COO. This would need to be done for any country in Africa which requires an installed system. Vet suppliers and products that has been requested for use by the Engineering Department.

Keep price lists updated for Engineering Department to use for detailed project costing.

Drive&develop project Bill of Quantities (BOQ) in conjunction with Engineering Department.

Handover project procurement list (BOQ) to Project Management Dept.

Project budget review and signatory on behalf of Engineering Department.

Driving and monitoring credit applications with suppliers.

Liaises with key company employees to determine their product and service needs.

Monitors business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times.

Nurtures relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for company.

Identifies and researches potential new suppliers.

Research new products and services to meet company's goals.

Assesses total costs of company purchases.

Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing products and monitoring stock levels.

Company stock&inventory management.
