We are looking for a talented

Data Engineer

with strong expertise in

Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

to join a fast-growing and dynamic team.

In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures that power data-driven decision-making across the organisation. You'll work closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure seamless data flow, enabling high-impact insights and innovative solutions.

We're seeking someone who is analytically strong, self-motivated, and thrives in a fast-paced, unstructured environment. A genuine passion for African business, combined with curiosity and a sense of humour, will make you a great fit for this team.

Responsibilities

Design and build scalable data pipelines and architectures using GCP technologies such as

Dataflow, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage

Develop and manage robust ETL processes to transform raw data into clean, structured datasets

Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand requirements and deliver data solutions that enable insights

Create and maintain clear documentation for data pipelines, architectures, and data models

Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues to ensure minimal disruption

Optimise data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency

Automate workflows and processes to improve operational efficiency

Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all systems

Stay up to date with emerging GCP tools, best practices, and data engineering trends

Qualifications&Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field

5+ years' experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role

Strong programming skills in

Python, SQL, and BigQuery

Hands‑on experience with

Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Proven expertise in ETL development and data modelling

Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
