Financial Accountant (Hybrid) - Cape Town, Cape Town, South Africa

Our client, a growing technology and connectivity solutions company, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their finance team in Cape Town.

This hybrid opportunity is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented finance professional looking to grow their accounting career within a fast-paced and technology-driven business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting and financial administration functions.
• Process journals, reconciliations, and general ledger transactions.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow monitoring.
• Support month-end and year-end financial processes.
• Assist with VAT calculations and submissions.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Capture and process financial information on accounting systems.
• Assist with management accounts and financial reporting preparation.
• Support the finance team with ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks.
• Assist with billing, supplier reconciliations, and customer account queries where required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2 to 5 years' accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations.
• Experience working on accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• High attention to detail and strong numerical ability.
• Organised, reliable, and able to work in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience within technology, telecommunications, services, digital, or fast-paced commercial environments will be advantageous.

Experience and Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• Exposure to reconciliations, creditors, debtors, journals, and month-end procedures.
• Experience working with ERP or accounting software.
• Exposure to billing environments or multi-entity accounting environments will be advantageous.
