Area Manager - Security, Cape Town

Our client, a well-established security services company, is seeking an experienced and highly operational Area Manager to oversee large-scale corporate and industrial security operations within the greater Cape Town region.

This role is suited to a hands‑on operational leader who is comfortable being in the field, managing high‑pressure operational environments, and ensuring exceptional service delivery across multiple sites and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple corporate and industrial security sites within the assigned region.

Manage and support a team of Operations Managers to ensure operational efficiency and service excellence.

Ensure all sites operate according to company standards, client requirements, and industry regulations.

Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and operational audits to maintain visibility and operational control.

Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate and industrial clients.

Investigate and resolve operational incidents, complaints, disciplinary matters, and service delivery challenges.

Monitor staffing levels, rostering, absenteeism, overtime, and overall operational performance.

Analyse operational performance and implement strategies to improve service delivery, efficiency, and profitability.

Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, PSIRA regulations, and company policies.

Oversee a large operational portfolio with significant monthly billing responsibility.

Remain operationally available when required, including overtime and holiday periods.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Area Manager or Operations Management role within the security industry.

Strong corporate and industrial security experience is essential.

Proven experience managing multiple sites and large operational portfolios.

Strong leadership and people management skills with experience managing middle‑management structures.

Excellent client relationship management and communication abilities.

Hands‑on operational leadership style with willingness to spend significant time in the field.

Strong operational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.

Experience with operational reporting, workforce management, and service delivery monitoring.

Good understanding of compliance, PSIRA regulations, and security industry operational standards.

Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly between sites.

Preferred Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Security Management, or a related field.

PSIRA registration will be advantageous.

Strong administrative and reporting skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational management systems.
