Overview

Hire Resolve is seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to join our client’s team in the aviation industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing “yellow tape” equipment, ensuring all electrical systems are functioning optimally and safely. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in auto electrical systems and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Perform repairs and overhauls on electrical systems in GSE equipment and vehicles. Install, maintain, identify faults, and repair electrical wiring and computer-based equipment in GSE equipment and vehicles. Diagnose, repair, and service the Menzies fleet of GSE equipment and vehicles according to specifications. Create and complete job cards accurately and in a timely manner. Attend to unscheduled breakdowns promptly to minimize delays. Conduct necessary checks and inspections on equipment and vehicles at required intervals. Carry out scheduled Preventative Maintenance as per Menzies’ standards and intervals. Provide electrical support and guidance to Senior Mechanics, Junior Mechanics, and GSE General Workers. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to housekeeping rules. Conduct ongoing risk assessments on equipment and operations, ensuring adherence to safe operating procedures. Respond to urgent out-of-hours calls when necessary. Promote and uphold the MORSE ‘Safety First’ culture throughout the organization.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Qualified Artisan with a 13 “Red Seal” or Section 26 D qualification. 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience as an Artisan. Proven experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs, including “yellow type equipment” (Ground Support Equipment). Qualified Auto Electrician with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic components. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics. Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Trade enrichment skills essential: Diesel, Petrol, Air Conditioning, Hydraulics & pneumatics. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver’s license and clean criminal record.

Skills:

Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding skills. Proficiency in installing and repairing electrical wiring and computer-based equipment. Ability to diagnose and service GSE equipment and vehicles. Attention to detail and accuracy in completing job cards. Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance programs and standards. Leadership skills to provide guidance to other team members. Commitment to safety and adherence to safe operating procedures. Availability to respond to urgent calls outside regular hours. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Organizational skills to maintain a tidy and efficient work environment.
