Senior Electrical Design Engineer, Cape Town

The tasks you'll perform

• Provide advanced design input and assist with the coordination of the Electrical Design team in the engineering work to meet client and project requirements
• Ensure all electrical designs meet project specifications, industry codes, statutory requirements and quality standards, while delivering cost effective, fit for purpose designs on projects.
• Coordinate technical interfaces with other engineering disciplines to ensure full integration and alignment across all project systems.
• Prepare comprehensive electrical engineering documentation such as scopes of work, bills of materials, equipment specifications, and technical datasheets.
• Develop and compile technical tender packages and provide electrical engineering input for the procurement of electrical equipment, switchgear, motors, etc.
• Deploy to project sites for as necessary to ensure successful project delivery.
• Prepare and present reports as required by the project scope.

The expertise you'll bring

• Recognised Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years postgraduate experience in a similar position.
• Registered ECSA Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
• South African Citizen of Permanent Resident
• Cape Town based
• Extremely well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors and co-workers.
• Display the core values and ethos of the business.
• Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables
• Demonstrated ability to achieve consistently high standards within both budgetary and schedule constraints.
