Senior Procurement Manager – Agriculture Industry, Cape Town

Overview

Hire Resolve’s client is a leading player in the agriculture industry in the Western Cape. They are looking for a Senior Procurement Manager to join their team and lead their procurement activities in the region.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective sourcing of agriculture inputs, equipment, and services Manage supplier relationships and conduct negotiations to secure favorable terms and pricing Oversee the procurement process from request to delivery, ensuring timely delivery and quality control Analyze market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and improvement Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and develop strategies to meet them Monitor and report on procurement KPIs to ensure compliance with company policies and best practices Mentor and develop junior procurement staff to build a high-performing team

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field 6 years management experience in a procurement / agri environment Thorough understanding of the dynamics of Agriculture Must be willing to travel when necessary and to work long hours during peak times. Proven track record of successfully managing supplier relationships and negotiations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and leadership skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office suite
