Junior Mechanical Design Engineer, Cape Town

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to gain hands‑on experience in mechanical design, product development, and technical problem-solving within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with mechanical design and drafting of components and assemblies

Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software

Support senior engineers with product development and project execution

Participate in design reviews and technical meetings

Perform engineering calculations and material selection

Liaise with manufacturing and production teams to ensure design feasibility

Maintain engineering documentation and revision control

Assist with prototype testing and design improvements

Minimum Requirements

National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering

0–2 years’ relevant experience

Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar

Good understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes

Strong problem‑solving and communication skills

Ability to work independently and within a team
