Senior SAP Retail Architect– S/4HANA&AI Enablement, Cape Town

We are seeking an experienced SAP Retail Solutions Architect with strong S/4HANA implementation expertise to join a dynamic retail environment in Cape Town. This role is ideal for a strategic and hands‑on SAP professional who thrives on transforming complex business requirements into scalable, innovative SAP solutions within the retail sector.

The successful candidate will play a key role in architecting and driving enterprise SAP Retail solutions, collaborating with business and technical stakeholders, and leading solution design across critical SAP landscapes.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

Must be based in or willing to relocate to Cape Town

Onsite working environment

Minimum 10 years’ SAP experience, specifically within the Retail industry

Minimum 5 years’ hands‑on SAP S/4HANA implementation experience

Proven experience as a Solution Architect within SAP Retail environments

Retail industry experience is mandatory

Key Responsibilities

Lead end‑to‑end solution architecture and design for SAP Retail and S/4HANA implementations

Translate complex business requirements into scalable SAP solutions aligned to enterprise architecture standards

Ensure seamless integration across SAP and non‑SAP platforms

SAP Retail&S/4HANA Delivery

Drive SAP Retail transformation initiatives across merchandising, supply chain, finance, and omni‑channel operations

Provide architectural oversight during implementation, testing, deployment, and post‑go‑live support

Ensure SAP best practices, governance standards, and solution quality are maintained

Integrations across SAP modules

SAP Retail

SAP SD

SAP MM

SAP Finance

SAP BTP

SAP BW

Support innovative technology initiatives including AI‑enabled business capabilities and modern retail solutions

Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and operational efficiency

Stakeholder Management&Leadership

Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, project teams, vendors, and leadership teams

Provide technical leadership and strategic guidance across SAP solution delivery

Mentor and support junior SAP consultants and solution teams

Drive architecture governance and promote SAP solution standards and best practices

SAP BW (Business Warehouse)

Experience

15+ years’ SAP experience, with a strong focus on Retail environments

5+ years’ SAP S/4HANA implementation experience

Experience working in complex, fast‑paced retail environments

Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capability

Qualifications

Relevant Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related field

SAP Certifications advantageous

SAP S/4HANA certifications highly advantageous
