MSP Systems Engineer (L2)
based in
Cape Town
who can deliver outstanding customer service, resolve escalated technical issues, and assist with real project work for our amazing clients.

We are a
Managed Services Provider (MSP)
that has supported small and mid‑size companies since
2001 . We act as the outsourced IT department for businesses across the United States, handling:
Microsoft 365
Windows Servers
Workstations
Firewalls
Backups&DR
Cybersecurity tools
Network infrastructure
Cloud migrations

You’ll be joining a team of certified IT pros who love what we do, love helping clients, and love helping each other.
You will support US‑based clients during their daytime hours, which fall comfortably within the South African early‑evening‑to‑late‑night window.
This is a
remote work‑from‑home position
with opportunities to grow into senior engineering, project leadership, or cloud specialization roles.

You will:
Provide
L2 helpdesk and systems support
directly to customers
Troubleshoot Windows desktop, server, and networking issues
Assist with
cloud migrations, firewall configuration, server upgrades, and cybersecurity projects
Maintain and administer client environments (patching, backups, firmware, monitoring alerts, etc.)
Configure software, hardware, firewalls, printers, and network devices
Manage accounts in Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Azure AD
Monitor performance and maintain systems according to best practices
Respond to outages, troubleshoot root cause, and implement fixes
Upgrade systems with new releases and models
Create and update documentation in IT Glue
Follow MSP processes for ticketing, escalation, standards, and communication
Help develop internal documentation, procedures, and runbooks
Minimum 3–5 years experience in:
Windows Server (2012–2022)
Windows 10/11 support
Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP
Microsoft 365&Exchange Online
Hyper‑V or VMware
VPN, RDP, terminal services
Bonus Skills (Highly Preferred)
Experience working for a
Managed Service Provider
Experience with
ConnectWise Manage, Automate, or Control
PowerShell scripting
VoIP
Excellent English speaking and writing
Confident phone presence (this is a customer‑facing role)
Ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users
Reliable high‑speed home internet
Quiet professional workspace
Ability to work US Pacific Time business hours (approx. 5pm– 2am SA time)
Smartphone for MFA and communication
Participation in rotating on‑call schedule (light)
Salary: R350,000– R650,000 per year
(depending on experience and skill level)
