Gaming Content Moderator - Flexible Hours&Safety, Cape Town

Location: South Africa. Hourly paid employee.

Role Overview Moderate user-generated content on gaming platforms to ensure compliance with community policies and brand safety. Handle comments, chat, images, videos, audio, and other formats. Escalate harmful content and provide feedback.

Responsibilities

Moderate content according to Social Element and client-specific guidelines.

Review content across multiple formats, including voice chat, videos, comments.

Stay updated on guideline changes and system updates.

Carry out moderation and training sessions as scheduled.

Maintain resilience when reviewing sensitive or intense content.

Escalate content per official processes (e.g., child safety, bomb threats).

Inform supervisors and project management of technical issues and provide feedback on client issues.

Working Hours Mixed flexibility across weekdays and weekends, covering shift patterns. Typically Wednesday to Sunday 12 AM–10 AM (UK times). Approximate 30 hours per week.

Child Protection Agreement to a criminal background check and provision of two professional referees at offer acceptance.

Requirements

Excellent Spanish and English reading and listening skills.

Ability to work accurately under time pressure within SLA‑driven workflows.

Experience in moderation, community management, gaming community, or gaming enthusiast.

Knowledge of social media platforms (Tik Tok, Twitch, Discord, Facebook, Instagram).

Comfortable with digital technologies, apps, online and cloud platforms.

Self‑disciplined time management while working remotely.

Operating system: Windows 10 64‑bit or higher / Mac OS X version 13 (Ventura) or higher.

Processor: i5 8th generation or faster 64‑bit.

RAM: at least 8 GB (16 GB recommended).

Internet speed: 20 Mbps download / 1 Mbps upload (recommended 50 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload).

Storage: 40 GB available HDD (SSD recommended).

Webcam and headset required.

Android or iOS device for two‑factor authentication.

Chromebook, Linux and Cloud VMs are not supported.
