Junior Interior Designer— CAD&SketchUp Pro, Cape Town

We are currently looking for the following designers to join our team: Senior Interior Designer– Specialising in Interior Architecture Requirements:

Min 5-10 years experience

Proficiency in AutoCAD&SketchUp is a must

Demonstrate advanced understanding of the interior design/interior architecture process

Job Description:

Be responsible for a project from design development through to execution.

Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor (QS), Builder, and various subcontractors.

Attend all site meetings, site inspections, joinery/furniture factory meetings, etc

Client Liaison: Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction.

Procurement for projects– Source&select finishes, sanitaryware, ironmongery, etc.

Drawing up the full set of working drawings in CAD, as well as creating schedules (Lighting, Sanitaryware, doors, ironmongery, finishes, etc).

Constantly monitor the project BOQ

Checking and signing off on all joinery&specialist shop drawings (pergola’s, pools, windows, doors, etc.)

Junior Interior Designer

Min 2 years experience

General Requirements for all positions:

Effectively work as part of a larger team, contributing to a positive and collaborative environment.

Effectively prioritize tasks and manage time to ensure project deadlines are met, while maintaining high-quality design standards.

Keep accurate daily timesheets via Toggl or other designated system.

Highly organised with a keen eye for detail

Must reside in Cape Town, South Africa

Bachelor’s degree or other tertiary qualification in Interior Design, Architecture or related discipline

Must have reliable car to go to site meetings etc

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to travel locally and internationally for projects

Demonstrate commitment to excellence in design&design execution

Demonstrate advanced understanding of the decorating process

Ability to work independently as well as in a team oriented, collaborative environment

Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development

Required to provide contactable references

Working Hours: Working hours are 9am– 6pm, Monday to Friday at our office in Bree Street, Cape Town.
