Senior Marine Structural Engineer - CPT, Cape Town

Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Marine Structural Engineer with experience in Cape Town, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing marine structural engineering projects, including design, analysis, and construction supervision. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proven track record of delivering high-quality engineering solutions, and experience working in the marine and maritime industry.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage marine structural engineering projects from concept to completion

Conduct design calculations and analysis for marine structures, including offshore platforms, piers, and jetties

Review and approve engineering drawings and specifications

Provide expert advice and guidance on marine structural engineering matters

Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure project compliance and successful delivery

Mentor and oversee junior engineers and technical staff

Prepare project reports, presentations, and technical documentation as required

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, with a specialization in marine or offshore engineering

Professional registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PrEng) is preferred

Minimum of 10 years of experience in marine structural engineering, with a focus on complex offshore structures

Proficiency in industry-standard software such as STAAD Pro, SACS, and AutoCAD

Experience with conducting site inspections and field investigations

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong project management and leadership abilities

Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, including API, ASCE, and DNV

Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment

Willingness to travel and work on-site as required
