Role Overview This senior analytics engineering role focuses on architecting and optimizing data pipelines and models that power Product Analytics, with an emphasis on eventing with e‑commerce data. The position is responsible for building scalable, reliable data sources that enable advanced analytics, tracking user behaviour, purchase funnels and core e‑commerce metrics to drive data‑driven decisions across product, business and operational functions.

The role partners closely with product and business stakeholders to develop trusted, actionable datasets that enhance visibility into customer engagement, enrollment patterns and e‑commerce performance. It also provides technical leadership and mentorship to junior analytics engineers, influencing data architecture and project direction for business‑critical, medium‑to‑high complexity data ecosystems spanning multiple product lines and functional areas.

Responsibilities

Technical

Cleanse and verify data integrity, enhancing data sources when required.

Exhibit best coding practices, adeptness in pipeline builds, and proficiency in transformation tools.

Analyse data to deliver data‑driven insights using proven data mining techniques.

Visualise data insights, communicate findings, and engage in data engineering tasks to optimise data pipelines and enhance analytical capabilities.

Business

Collaborate with other analysts and stakeholders to execute projects.

Leverage business knowledge to enhance business performance.

Help guide business when making technical decisions.

Management

Effectively lead and deliver projects, leveraging knowledge, expertise and experience.

Support and mentor other analysts.

Personal

Perform research and stay on top of industry trends.

Engage proactively to seek opportunities for improvement through ongoing learning.

Qualifications

5–7+ years of experience

in analytics engineering, data engineering, business intelligence, or similar technical fields.

Bachelor’s degree is required, with a concentration in a mathematical or analytical field preferred (e.g.: Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science).

Skilled in data analysis, data engineering and business intelligence.

Advanced understanding of SQL, efficiently and effectively applies best coding practices and demonstrates ability to upskill/assist others.

Advanced understanding of Python, efficiently and effectively applies best coding principles and demonstrates ability to upskill/assist others.

Advanced understanding of DBT and demonstrates proficiency in building data pipelines while assisting in upskilling/assisting others.

Skilled understanding of version control; efficiently create pull requests, collaborate, debug/track issues, document and host code.

Independently develop complex data models.

Experience with a reporting tool, such as Tableau.

Additional Attributes

Demonstrate a solid understanding of product telemetry and event data, including supporting the validation and tracking of user journeys for product analytics.

Manage multiple projects, resolve challenges swiftly, deliver adaptable approaches, and value diverse opinions.

Take ownership, anticipate new problems, test solutions, and mentor others on effective problem‑solving techniques.

Set quarterly goals aligned with team objectives, track progress in Workday, and communicate barriers to the manager.

Demonstrate expert understanding, introduce new tools/methodologies, and provide team training to enhance productivity.

Tailor messages for audience understanding, engage respectfully in team meetings, synthesize thoughts effectively, present confidently, and actively listen to stakeholders.

Consistently build and maintain key stakeholder relationships, perceived as a trusted partner, offer sound guidance, and navigate challenging relationships effectively.
