Job Description

A leading organisation is recruiting for a Tax Accountant to ensure ongoing compliance with the Botswana Income Tax Act and related tax regulations while delivering accurate, value-driven tax support across the business. Responsibilities:

Calculate and record monthly income taxes and deferred taxes for Botswana operations and Development Funds. Ensure compliance with all Transfer Pricing regulations and requirements. Prepare, complete and submit provisional tax payments and annual income tax returns. Liaise with Revenue Authorities and support the business during tax audits and investigations. Provide tax advice to business units on income tax matters across Botswana and South Africa. Perform monthly account reconciliations and review vendor invoices for VAT and withholding tax compliance. Monitor changes in tax legislation and recommend necessary process improvements. Maintain organised tax documentation and ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements. Collaborate with auditors and internal stakeholders to support tax reporting and compliance initiatives.

Requirements:

CA(SA) qualification is essential. Post Graduate Tax qualification advantageous. 1 – 3 years’ experience within petrochemical, manufacturing or corporate environments. Strong understanding of IFRS accounting principles and direct taxes. Working knowledge of SAP. Advanced MS Excel skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
