Financial Accountant Retail (Head Office) This is a commercially focused finance role for an experienced accountant who thrives in a hands‑on retail environment. Youll be deeply involved in the day‑to‑day financial operations, working closely with store managers and operational teams to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and smarter processes across the business.

This is a mid‑level finance role with real scope to grow, one for an ambitious accountant who is ready to step beyond pure technical delivery and take ownership of a team, a set of systems, and a broader business partnership.

Youll lead a small finance team, work closely with store and operational managers, and drive the kind of process and systems improvements that make a meaningful difference to how the business runs. The accounting fundamentals matter, but what sets this role apart is the expectation that youll think and act like a business partner, not just a reporter of numbers.

Key Responsibilities

Financial reporting cycle : Prepare monthly management accounts, budgeting, and forecasting

Cash flow&working capital : Monitor cash flow, stock, debtors, creditors, and financial controls

Compliance : Ensure adherence to tax, statutory, and audit requirements

Systems&process improvements : Drive efficiencies across ERP systems (SAP&CISTECH)

Automation opportunities : Identify and implement technology‑driven improvements

Operational support : Partner with store and operations teams to support decision‑making

Requirements

Degree in Accounting/Finance

35 years relevant accounting experience in a

commercial retail or multi‑site environment

Strong understanding of

South African tax and statutory compliance

ERP experience (SAP advantageous) and advanced Excel skills

Improvement‑oriented mindset with interest in

AI and automation

Hands‑on approach with proven ability to work closely with operational teams
