A detail-oriented and experienced Accountant is required to maintain accurate financial records, manage payroll processes, and support day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced business environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records Process accounts payable and accounts receivable Reconcile bank statements and company accounts Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including salaries, wages, deductions, leave, and employee benefits Maintain accurate payroll and employee records Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, tax regulations, and company policies Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures Generate financial and payroll reports as required Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and relevant authorities Support general finance and administrative functions as needed Requirements
Proven experience as an accountant Strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles Experience using accounting and payroll software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, VIP Payroll, Pastel Payroll or similar) Solid understanding of payroll legislation, PAYE, UIF, and statutory deductions High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong organisational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality Excellent communication and problem-solving skills AAT qualification, bookkeeping certificate, or similar finance qualification preferred Desirable Skills
Experience working in a fast-paced business environment Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively Strong Microsoft Excel skills Knowledge of South African payroll and tax compliance requirements advantageous
