Red Seal Mechanic (Yellow Equipment & Trucks) – Johannesburg - West Rand

Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Red Seal Mechanic with a minimum of 10 years’ experience working on yellow equipment, earthmoving machinery, and heavy-duty trucks. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and servicing to ensure maximum equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, servicing, and repairs on yellow equipment and heavy-duty trucks.
• Conduct fault finding on diesel engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns efficiently.
• Carry out preventative and scheduled maintenance according to OEM standards.
• Attend to field service breakdowns and emergency repairs when required.
• Complete job cards and maintenance reports accurately.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness, tools, and equipment.
• Assist with mentoring apprentices and junior mechanics.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Red Seal Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic Trade Certificate.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience working on yellow equipment and trucks.
• Experience with brands such as CAT, Komatsu, Bell, Volvo, Hitachi, Scania, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, or similar.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Valid driver’s license (Code 10 or 14 advantageous).
• Willingness to work overtime and attend breakdowns when required.
