Description

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a minimum of Matric
  • Must have a Degree / Diploma in HR
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' working experience as a HR Assistant in the Retail Industry working with a staff compliment of +- 600 people
  • Must be proficient on all MS Office packages with MS Office Excel Advanced
  • Proficient on SAP (Advantageous)
  • Must have working experience in all factors affecting Payroll input and timeous submission thereof
  • Must have working experience in preparing and attending to CCMA matters
  • Valid driver's licence (no endorsements)
  • Own reliable transport
  • Must have a clear criminal history

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Exceptional communication and reporting skills (written & verbal)
  • Good organisational skills
  • Proficient on SAP (Advantageous)
  • Must be proficient is MS Packages (Outlook, Word, Excel Advanced, PowerPoint)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

Main duties & Job Function:

  • The HR Assistant will be reporting to the HR Officer

Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities: -

  • Recruitment and appointment of staff in line with branch staffing requirements
  • Staff compliance with the company conditions of employment.
  • All factors affecting Payroll input and the timeous submission thereof to HO as well as the administration of pay slips
  • Administration and management of all staff benefits including death and disability
  • Staff terminations
  • Dealing with all employment related queries
  • Capturing Human-Resources related statistics for Head Office.
  • Ensuring that disciplinary hearings are effectively dealt with.
  • Preparing for and attending to CCMA matters.
  • Facilitating Occupational Health and Safety in the branch.
  • Arranging training in conjunction with the FM Training Manager
  • Assisting/contributing at a management level to the achievement of performance targets for the branch
