Position Overview:
The Draughtsman will be responsible for Structural, Mechanical and Piping draughting on the Petrochemical / and oil and gas project. The Draughtsman is required to produce concepts and detailed 3D models, designs, and drawings using AutoCAD.

Responsibilities / Expected Outputs:

• Plant layouts and site measurements.
• Creating a Bill of Quantities.
• 2D/3D Design of structural, mechanical and pipework, building design and layout for Petrochemical and Oil and Gas related equipment using project specifications/procedures and applying industry best practice.
• Layout piping and provide input to the mechanical equipment location.
• Create standard drawings and symbol library drawings
• Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs, the plant layout and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
• Ensure coordination with designers and engineers of other disciplines.
• Ensure that all drawings are registered, updated, distributed and stored in a controlled and retrievable manner in accordance with the company's standard procedures.
• Follow established CAD standards in regards to layering, dimension, text annotations and other aspect of CAD users
• Experience with P&ID will be advantageous
• Essential - Must be self-driven
• Essential - Must be willing to self-learn

Required Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:

• Essential: NQF 4 FETC: Computer-Aided Drawing, or equivalent
• Desirable: N Diploma or BTech
• 3 - 6 Years' Piping & Mechanical CAD detail draughting experience on large EPC and EPCM projects
• Essential: Previous draughting experience on EPCM build / re-build projects
• Essential: Fully proficient in AutoCAD
• Desirable: Piping Isometrics detailing
• Desirable: Piping BOQ (accurate and complete to specification)
• Desirable: Sound knowledge of piping and fittings' specifications and applications
• Essential: Mechanical Equipment: Detail modelling and detailed drawings complete with bill of quantities, ready for fabrication
• Desirable: Solid structural layout and detailing skills
• Essential: Attention to detail and quality of work (meticulous)
• Essential: Able to understand and interpret engineering freehand sketches and calculations
