Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have a relevant tertiary qualification
- Minimum 10 years experience in the design and delivery of Compensation & Benefits programs
- Good understanding of regional and local legislation and Compensation & Benefits practices
- Sound knowledge of Labour Relations in South Africa and working experience in BBBEE, Employment Equity and Skills Development Acts
- Good communication and consultative skills and the ability to influence and negotiate at senior level is crucial
- Strong analytical and program management skills
- Ability to understand business strategy and plans
- Capable of working effectively within a multi-country, matrix organisational structure
- Ability to effectively interact with senior management and to respond effectively to sensitive or confidential inquiries
- Mobile and ready for business travel on a needs basis
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing internal consulting support to HR Business Partners and line management on Compensation & Benefits topics.
- Addressing business needs, cycle and structure, legal restrictions, financial constraints, socio-political factors, EE requirements and economic forces of diverse countries.
- Ensuring coherence to the Compensation & Benefits philosophy, principles and governance, to a holistic and sustainable approach.
- Rolling out global and regional Compensation & Benefits processes and policies within the Country and supporting the required consultation with the relevant social partners where applicable.
- Ensuring that all Country and Regional Compensation & Benefits processes are consistent with Global and Regional policies and approaches.
- Contributing to influencing Compensation & Benefits content design and relevant global processes by representing business and regional requirements in global initiatives.
- Participating in various global Compensation & Benefits projects such as benchmarking-, simplification- or job evaluations and global work-levels validation, reward service delivery projects etc.
- Ensuring timely execution of Global and Regional annual processes and cascading down key messages within the Compensation & Benefits arena.
- Managing the annual Comp-Round activity and other initiatives such as salary survey submission, SIP-annual reviews and communication.
- Contributing to the development of a benefits frameworks in AMET and to the implementation of cost-to-company and flexible benefits in South Africa.
- Supporting engagement and communications of HR Business Partners and Line Managers in connection with Work-Day go live and gWL communication.
- Support development and discussions regarding salary increase budgets and pay strategy.
- Contributing to pensions projects in AMET led by Global Benefits.
- Advising and working closely with Compensation & Benefits Operations and HR Operations.
- Educating to improve HR and line management's understanding of the company's programs and how they can be used to incentivise business performance and motivate employees.
- Following critical changes in local Labour and Tax legislation and propose changes to local policies and programs.
- Ensuring the company operates in line with local Labour legislation and complies with statutory requirements in the Compensation & Benefits area.
- Driving the operating model by building strong relationships with Business Unit- and Country HR Business Partners and Country HR Operations.
- Providing HR Specialist support in South Africa and HR expertise to ensure statutory compliance of Labour Relations, including but not limited to Employment Equity, Skills Development and BBBEE legislation.
- Developing the administrative framework and support structures to facilitate annual reporting within prescribed timelines.
- Researching and evaluating ways to improve the effectiveness of EE and BBBEE score.
- Contributing to the integration of Employment Equity, BBBEE and Skills Development into the business culture of the organisation.
- Supporting Corporate Social responsibility programmes and ensuring that these support the BBBEE objectives of the organisation.
- Ensuring completion of mandatory training and training renewals where required.
