Hire Resolve’s client, a leading company in the IT sector, is looking for an Operations Specialist to join their dynamic team in Centurion. This role is crucial for the ongoing development and efficiency of the organization’s operational processes.

Responsibilities

Conduct analyses to assess the efficiency and integration of internal IT infrastructure and information systems. Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintaining, installing, customizing, and optimizing databases (SQL, MySQL, Oracle). Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintaining, installing, customizing, and optimizing Linux servers. Report to management on the development, implementation, and progress of IT infrastructure and information systems. Collaborate with development teams and departments, incorporating user feedback. Drive innovation and implementation in IT infrastructure and information systems. Manage support teams and evaluate their performance metrics. Oversee user testing and make necessary adjustments to IT infrastructure and information systems. Ensure timely and within-budget delivery of products and services. Manage software and hardware installations and upgrades. Monitor day-to-day operations, provide performance reports, and recommend actionable improvements as needed. Order IT supplies and manage license and asset inventory, coordinating with accounting and finance to maintain budget compliance. Develop and implement IT-related procedures and protocols. Maintain computer network infrastructure and ensure network security. Maintain, install, and administrate database infrastructure. Identify, investigate, propose/recommend, and install any necessary IT support, reporting, or other software. Maintain and update company IT-related policies and procedures.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Extensive experience in technical management, ideally within a relevant industry. Advanced expertise in IT infrastructure, as well as information systems innovation and integration. Proven ability to lead and manage IT support teams. Familiarity with creating and executing database queries. In-depth understanding of database design principles and theories. Competence in collaborating with data architects and other IT specialists to establish, maintain, and monitor data networks. Proficiency in database structure languages such as SQL or SQL/PSM. Experience with server installation and maintenance. Knowledge of best practices in database management. Comprehensive understanding of the IT Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Experience with ITIL and Agile methodologies is an advantage. Strong ability to diagnose faults, incidents, and problems, and to implement necessary changes. Ensures optimal performance of hardware, software, and network security. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
