Civil Engineer, Centurion

Responsibilities

Design and develop transmission and distribution line projects using PLS-CADD

Perform route selection, line profiling, tower spotting, and clearance analysis

Conduct structural and civil design calculations for overhead line infrastructure

Prepare technical drawings, reports, specifications, and construction documentation

Coordinate with electrical, structural, and project engineering teams

Ensure designs comply with Eskom, IEC, and relevant international standards

Assist with site inspections, feasibility studies, and project implementation support

Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles

Support project delivery from concept through to detailed design and construction

Minimum Requirements

BEng/BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering

3+ years’ experience in transmission or distribution line engineering

Proficient in PLS-CADD and related transmission line design tools

Experience with overhead line design and utility infrastructure projects

Knowledge of relevant design standards and engineering practices

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams

Advantageous Skills

Experience with PLS-POLE or PLS-TOWER

Professional registration or candidacy with ECSA

Exposure to renewable energy or utility-scale power projects
