Sales and Store Assistant (Ballito), Durban

Our client requires a confident, self-motivated, vibrant individual to fill a Sales and Store Assistant vacancy at their Ballito store. You will contribute significantly to the success and overall performance of their store by ensuring that the customers have the best shopping experience when they enter the store and purchase products.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
• Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
• Maintain a fully stocked store
• Ascertain customers’ needs and wants
• Collect customer balloon orders and fulfil the order requirements by arranging the items as needed
• Recommend and display items that match customer needs
• Welcome and greet customers
• Manage point-of-sale processes
• Actively involved in the receiving of new shipments
• Keep up to date with product information
• Accurately describe product features and benefits
• Assist with opening and closure of store in line with trading hours
• Follow all companies’ policies and procedures

Minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate (NSC)
• Proven working experience in retail sales (minimum of 6 months)
• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
• Ability to learn quickly
• Creativity and interest in balloon garlands
• Proficiency in English
• Track record of over-achieving sales quota
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Customer service focus
• Friendly, helpful, confident and engaging personality
• Basic administration skills
