Structural Engineer (Junior), Durban

Key Responsibilities:

Form part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Conduct the design of concrete structures, as well as steel structures, using Prokon as design platform, under the supervision of a professional engineer.

Production of AutoCad and Revit structural engineering drawings and models.

Production of reinforcement drawings and bending schedules. 

Conduct site inspections on all types of structural engineering projects, including reinforcement inspections. 

Compilation of Feasibility Reports, Design Reports, Site Meeting Minutes and Progress performance reports.

Compilation of Tender Documentation and Tender evaluation reports.

Attend site meetings to represent BVi structures department.

Collaborate with draughts person(s) and checking detail drawings compiled. 

Overall project management.

Key Requirements:

B.Sc. or B.Eng. in civil engineering, with focus on the structural engineering discipline.

Minimum 3 years relevant verifiable practical structural engineering experience.

Advanced proficiency in the following computer software programs:

 AutoDesk AutoCad or similar drawing software.

AutoDesk Revit (pre-requisite).

Autodesk Revit - Reinforcement detailing (added advantage). 

•  AutoDesk Revit – Creating Families (added advantage).
•  Prokon (pre-requisite).
•  Prokon SUMO modelling (added advantage).

Knowledge of NHBRC rules and specifications (added advantage). 

Registered at ECSA as a Candidate Professional Engineer (added advantage).

Must be fluent in English and be able to speak Isizulu (added advantage).

To be based or willing to relocate to Durban, KZN .
