Job Description:
Reporting to the GM, leading a team of 3 the role is responsible for financial compliance and the preparation and management of the following:
- Management Accounts
- Annual Financial Statements
- Assistance with the budget and forecasting functions
- Compliance with SARS and other regulatory requirements
- Manage the Audit process
- Ensuring the control environment is adhered at all times
- Controlling and overseeing the debtors / creditors / fixed assets / stock processes
- Managing and monitoring actual vs budget spend
Other Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present timely and accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and tax reporting requirements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and make recommendations for cost optimization.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis, performance evaluations, and variance analysis to provide insights to the management team.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and support operational requirements.
- Forecast cash flow needs and optimize working capital.
- Compliance and Auditing:
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits.
- Financial Strategy:
- Collaborate with the Farming Business Manager to develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of 3, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Completed SAICA / SAIPA articles advantage
- Audit experience beneficial
- Advanced Excel skills
- 3 Years+ experience in similar role
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
