Import Release Clerk, Durban

As the Import Release Clerk, you will administer all import release activities at a documentation level within a fast-paced clearing and forwarding environment. The role will also require framing customs entries as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all customs declaration types.
• Submit query documents to customs.
• Calculate Duty and VAT accurately.
• Prepare and process Voucher of Correction.
• Handle all types of customs stops and examinations, including NRCS and SAPS inspections.
• Process refunds, destructions, and claims.
• Manage Rebate Store operations and update the tariff book and explanatory notes.
• Exhibit flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends, as needed.

Requirements (Experience and Qualifications):

• Matric essential.
• Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport, or a Customs Clearance Certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Advanced knowledge of import activities, legal and ethical requirements in the shipping, clearing, and forwarding industry.
• Extensive experience in Customs Clearing Part 1 & 2
