Hiring: Packaging Buyer (Pinetown, Durban)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Source, negotiate, and purchase packaging materials in line with cost, quality, and delivery targets.

• Support manufacturing teams and communicate any supply issues.

• Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal departments for purchasing processes and new projects.

• Provide cost analysis and identify cost reduction opportunities.

• Negotiate contracts, improve prices, and review savings opportunities.

• Prepare purchase orders, schedules, and follow up on outstanding orders.

• Build and maintain supplier relationships.

• Conduct supplier performance evaluations and resolve any issues related to price, quality, or delivery.

• Monitor inventory records.

Skills and Attributes:

• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

• Commercial awareness and ability to prioritize tasks.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Familiarity with SAP or similar systems.

• Experience in FMCG, pharmaceutical, or cosmetic industries preferred.
