Disability Support Worker Taibo Pty Ltd Canberra ACT Aged and Disability Support (Community Services and Development) Full time 35 – 37 per hour Metrascare a Canberra based support organization looking for people to work with them to make a difference in the lives of people living with a disability. About the opportunity: Metrascare has a range of rewarding opportunities as a Disability Support Worker and are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals with a strong focus on providing person-centered support for their participants across all domains of life. As a Disability Support Worker, you will assist people with a range of tasks to meet the individual needs and goals of Metrascare participants which involves undertaking personal care, domestic duties around the home, transport to work and other activities as well as encouraging social networks and community participation. To be considered for the role, you must have availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over a 24/7 roster working across morning, afternoon and nights with shift work included. About you: To be successful for the role, you will possess the following: Genuine desire to provide high level care for people with disability. Ability to enable inclusion for people with disability. Ability to take clients swimming or for hydrotherapy session. Excellent communication and computer skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Creativity to promote and support community contribution. You will be required to obtain a Working with vulnerable people Check (WWVP), NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC), Drivers Licence, Valid and current First Aid Certificate, evidence of manual handling and medication management, and evidence of at least two (2) doses of a COVID-19 vaccination and access to a reliable vehicle prior to commencement.
