Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026. The Team & Role The Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System has set out a vision for mental health reform over the next 10 years. A significant part of the reform requires area mental health and wellbeing services commence the establishment of services that provide integrated treatment, care and support to people living with mental illness and substance use or addiction. In moving towards this integration and improved service delivery the Youth Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Stream is looking for a passionate clinician with experience in either community mental health and/or drug alcohol services to join this dynamic team and support the development of integrated models of care. The Youth Stream, forms part of the newly expanding Infant, Child and Youth (ICY) Program which has been gradually implemented across 2024 and 2025. The Youth Stream provides assertive, flexible assessment and treatment options for young people aged 12-25 years experiencing significant mental health difficulties and conditions, along with their families and carers. Skills & Experience Required Ensure familiarity with the expected standards of performance in the role and actively contribute to own personal development. Maintain a good working knowledge of and adherence to standards and legislation relevant to the role (such as Child Safe Standards, Aged Care Act etc) and actively promote compliance to any such standards and legislation. Complete all mandatory training by the due date. Undertake any additional tasks as requested that reasonably fall within the scope of the position and classification. Provide comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments and formulations, drawing on a range of models to inform practice for consumers presenting with co-occurring mental health and substance use difficulties Deliver evidence-based interventions within scope of knowledge and competence, including individual and group work Provide primary and secondary consultation to clinicians across both youth mental health and drug and alcohol services, regarding evidence-based AOD and dual diagnosis practice principles and approaches Plan, evaluate and review care in consultation with the consumer and multi-disciplinary team, including recognising and responding to risks Work collaboratively with families and carers, involving them in the assessment and treatment process when appropriate Promote youth and family lived experience participation in service design, planning, implementation and evaluation Participate in relevant team meetings and clinical review meetings Alongside other leaders in the service participate in the development of relevant Clinical Practice Guidelines and Models of Care that ensure that embedding AOD and dual diagnosis remains a primary focus of care within Peninsula Health Mental Health Service Proactively recognise and respond to any unsafe or unprofessional practice Maintain accurate client records and an orderly environment to assist in the smooth running of the team Assist in the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) attached to the role Participate in the annual Performance Development Review (PDR) Support the development of professional discipline by providing supervision to colleagues and students who are on placement Engage in regular clinical supervision and line management Support the ongoing development of the service, including providing training and supervision Engage in quality improvement projects and research as indicated Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures Benefits Step into state-of-the-art facilities Take advantage of low-cost onsite parking Boost your take-home pay with generous salary packaging & novated leasing Unlock exclusive discounts at top retailers and dining spots Stay fit with access to premium gyms via Fitness Passport Feel supported with our holistic Employee Assistance Program Grow your skills through top-tier education and training partners Join a vibrant, collaborative team led by passionate leaders The role ceases advertising on 15 February 2026: Please note that applications will be considered upon receipt and that this job posting may close early if a sufficient number of applications are received, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
