About the Role This position reports to the Service Management Manager within the Digital Workplace Experience team in the Information Technology department. The role is responsible for ensuring optimal IT service delivery in alignment with the service management framework, enhancing services that directly impact staff and student experience. As a senior leader in IT service management, you will drive process analysis and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring services are outcome-focused, lean, fit for purpose, and operationally effective. You will work closely with key stakeholders across the University and IT, fostering positive work practices and mentoring operational process owners to strengthen capability and performance. With a strong focus on improving user experience and operational effectiveness, this role will optimise the interaction between people, processes, technology, partners, and suppliers across the full-service lifecycle—from design and development through to delivery and support. The Senior Process Consultant will lead the development of new business processes and support successful adoption through guidance and mentorship of managers and teams. Working collaboratively with Service Management, Operational Managers, and broader stakeholders, you will embed best practices, contribute to continual improvement initiatives using agile methodologies, and oversee selected operational processes while providing cross-coverage across multiple disciplines. As part of Swinburne, IT’s strategic partnership with the University, this role contributes to delivering innovative, high-quality digital services that support teaching, learning, research, and the University’s 2025 Strategic Plan. This is a full-time, fixed term 6 month position at our Hawthorn campus. About You  To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: Extensive experience designing and establishing service management practices within complex environments, including the ability to develop, implement, enhance, measure, and report on performance outcomes. Demonstrated success managing day-to-day IT service management processes to ensure effective and reliable service delivery. Strong problem-solving capability, applying sound professional judgement and expertise to make informed decisions and resolve complex issues. Practical experience in implementing, embedding, and continuously improving IT service management processes. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and present information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Confident and effective presenter, engaging audiences at all levels, from operational teams to senior leadership. Advanced stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and manage expectations. Proven ability to contribute to organisational objectives and lead others toward shared goals by articulating a clear vision, fostering open communication, and modelling strong leadership behaviours.
