Minimum Qualifications

• Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification (Diploma or Degree)
• Experience in the baking/bakery sector, or in food science, or sales within the field of baking ingredients or laboratory equipment for the milling industry
• Solid ingredients knowledge and technical expertise within the baking or milling industry
• Must be willing and able to travel extensively within South Africa and into other southern African countries
• Capable of adapting to challenging “African” business environments
• A business-forward mindset with a “go-getter” attitude
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with management (English)
• Based in Durban or willing to relocate
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales, particularly in related industries
• Good references

Key Responsibilities

• Develop sales with existing accounts and proactively prospect new customers
• Manage and nurture customer relationships for both existing and new accounts to ensure client satisfaction
• Implement sales strategies and introduce new product developments to customers
• Joint responsibility for product pricing with the sales manager, focusing on increasing margin per kilogram
• Gather and communicate new briefs/expectations; liaise with R&D to meet customer demands
• Provide monthly reports on key metrics, prospecting progress, and competitor product updates
• Prepare and deliver presentations to new potential clients
• Prospect for new key accounts, arrange and conduct presentations, and represent the company at seminars
