Accountant Position

A diversified investment holding company seeks an experienced Accountant to join their dynamic team and provide strategic finance guidance to a newly acquired subsidiary within the group.

This role will be based in Durban North. Duties&Responsibilities

Job&Company Description: The purpose of this role will be to provide support for the business through the finance function, working closely with the current Financial Manager. You will also be responsible for transactional and journal control and recons, as well as maintaining the fixed asset register and WIP balances. Other main duties will include budgeting and forecasting for projects and adding cost control, as well as flagging / raising items for attention of senior management.

The successful incumbent will have a strong understanding of a project-based environment, for example construction and building, engineering or civil industries.

You will report to the Group CFO and Group CEO, as well as the Divisional Financial Manager. Education

Diploma or Degree in Finance or Accounting essential Job Experience&Skills Required

5 to 7 years' experience within a full finance function position Construction / building / engineering / civil industry experience, and understanding of a project-based environment essential Knowledge of Sage essential Experience with systems and process implementations essential Knack for numbers and analytically mindedMeticulous attention to detail Deadline driven Package&Remuneration
