Key Responsibilities Operational Management (Student Accommodation Jobs South Africa)
Oversee daily operations including maintenance, cleaning, and security
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations
Manage lease agreements, check‑ins/outs, and room allocations
Monitor occupancy levels and support vacancy management
Community Engagement&Student Experience
Plan and execute social, cultural, and educational programmes
Create and manage student engagement calendars
Build strong relationships with students and stakeholders
Promote an inclusive and positive residence environment
Student Support&Wellbeing
Act as first point of contact for student concerns and emergencies
Manage incidents, reporting, and follow‑ups
Support student wellbeing and refer to appropriate services where needed
Mediate conflicts and enforce residence rules fairly
Communication&Engagement
Manage resident communication channels including WhatsApp groups
Share updates on events, operations, and community matters
Ensure clear and consistent communication with residents
Administration&Reporting
Maintain accurate records of student data, incidents, and maintenance logs
Prepare reports on occupancy, budgets, and operations
Assist with budgeting and cost control
Minimum Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Education, Hospitality, Business, or Property Management
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in student accommodation, hospitality, or community‑focused environments
Experience in property or facilities management (advantageous)
Strong understanding of student housing operations
First Aid certification and valid driver’s licence (preferred)
Key Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Conflict resolution and crisis management ability
Emotional intelligence and student support capability
Event planning and community‑building skills
Strong organisational and administrative ability
Tech‑savvy (Microsoft Office, CRM systems, social platforms)
