Legal Tax Consultant, Durban

An opportunity has become available for a Legal Tax Consultant at our PKF Durban Umhlanga Office.

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide assistance with Tax, Advisory and Dispute Resolution services and Corporate Tax Restructuring.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Research, Reviewing and Drafting

Interpretation of Tax Legislation as well as assisting with commentary on new Legislation for publishing in the company's local and international newsletters.

2. Tax Dispute Resolution

Completion of the full spectrum of the ADR process, including drafting and compiling of objections and appeals to SARS, complaints to the Tax Ombudsman and the drafting of notices and pleadings for the Tax Board and Tax Court.

3. Tax Advisory

Drafting of technical tax advisory opinions on areas such as income tax, expatriate tax, employment tax, donations tax, value-added tax, and international tax.

4. Tax Restructuring

Drafting of Restructuring Agreements and supporting documents in terms of Section 42 and Section 47 of the Income Tax Act.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Certificate: National Senior Certificate
• Degree: Bachelor of Law (LL.B)
• Admitted attorney or eligible for admission as an attorney
