Planning Manager - Fashion Retail, Durban

We are seeking a strategic and commercially minded Planning Manager to lead our merchandise planning function within a fast-paced fashion retail environment. This role is ideal for a data-driven leader who can translate insights into action, optimise stock investment, and drive overall business performance.

• Define and lead the merchandise planning strategy aligned to business objectives
• Drive sales, margin, stock turn, and profitability across all categories
• Lead forecasting, budgeting, and seasonal planning processes
• Oversee OTB (Open-to-Buy) and ensure effective stock management and flow
• Analyse trading performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and implement corrective actions
• Partner closely with Buying, Design, and Operations teams to deliver cohesive strategies
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing planning team
• Ensure strong inventory control, minimising markdown and maximising sell-through

• Proven experience as a Planning Manager or Senior Merchandise Planner in fashion retail
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Advanced analytical ability with strong Excel and planning system expertise
• Deep understanding of retail metrics and financial levers
• Commercial mindset with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
