Senior Finance Business Partner / Finance Executive, Durban

This position is suited to a qualified Chartered Accountant with a 6+ years progressive post article experience. The ideal candidate is a commercially astute finance leader with deep financial modelling expertise and the ability to navigate complex commercial environments while managing multiple projects, process improvement, automation and optimization. They are influential, adaptable, and highly collaborative, able to partner effectively with multiple divisional heads.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Executive will be a senior leader responsible for:

• Be a trusted advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team
• Actively collaborate with all divisional heads to ensure alignment between strategy and execution
• Translate strategic plans into financial outcomes, KPIs, and measurable targets
• Provide scenario modelling, investment analysis, and actionable insights
• Influence decision making through strong commercial judgement and data driven recommendations
• Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies
• Lead finance transformation initiatives, including systems, automation, and reporting enhancements
• Improve data quality, reporting tools, and decision-support capabilities
• Develop and maintain dynamic financial models for business cases, investments, and commercial decisions
• Evaluate and structure commercial contracts, identifying key financial risks and value drivers
• Translate complex commercial terms into financial outcomes and performance metrics
• Apply strong influencing and persuasive skills to align stakeholders and drive optimal commercial decisions
• Budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes
• Deliver accurate and timely performance reporting, including variance analysis and insights
• Enhance forecasting methodologies and improve overall financial visibility
• Support performance optimisation initiatives across the business
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial reporting
• Maintain effective financial controls and compliance with relevant standards and regulations
• Support audit processes and strengthen risk management practices
• Lead and contribute to multiple concurrent projects across finance and the broader business

Desired Experience and Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (SA) / CA(SA) is essential
• Strong experience in financial modelling and commercial support
• Strong commercial acumen and contract evaluation capability
• In depth knowledge of financial reporting and IFRS
• ERP systems experience; Power BI or equivalent analytics tools advantageous
• Advanced Excel (non-negotiable)

Package and Remuneration
R 1 400 000 – R 1 500 000 per annum
