As part of Banyule Leisure’s aquatic programs team, you’ll deliver engaging swimming and water safety lessons in a supportive and community-focused environment. You’ll play an important role in creating a positive and child-safe learning experience while adapting lessons to support participants of different ages and abilities. What you’ll do Deliver swimming, water safety, survival skills, rescue techniques and stroke development programs across Banyule Leisure facilities Supervise classes to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants in a child-safe environment Assess participant ability levels and adapt lessons to support individual learning needs Build positive relationships with participants and families, while maintaining records, equipment, training and qualification requirements What you'll bring/what we are looking for We’re looking for enthusiastic, community-minded Swim Instructors passionate about helping people build confidence and safety in the water. You’ll bring strong communication and class management skills, a positive and flexible approach, and the ability to create engaging and safe learning environments for children and participants of all abilities. You’ll have: Experience working within a Learn to Swim Program (desirable). Excellent communication skills. Excellent class management and safety management skills. Demonstrated understanding of how to work with children. Demonstrated understanding of the need for flexibility in approach. Demonstrate commitment to our values. Must hold all mandatory qualifications (as listed below/in the PD). Mandatory Qualifications: CPR certificate (essential) Swim and Water Safety Teacher Qualification (essential) Level 2 First Aid (Apply First Aid). Pre-employment requirements Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) Current Working with Children’s Check Pre-Employment Medical Check We offer: Permanent, part-time opportunities to fit shifts around other work, study, or commitments Salary range 70,306.14 to 73,767.30 for comparison at full time (35.58 to 37.33 per hour), excluding super, dependent on experience Primary work location Ivanhoe Aquatic Supportive and engaging team Benefits include personal development and access to gym facilities. This role requires commitment to Saturday and/or Sunday 8-12:15 shift.
