Logistics Planner, Durban

Overview At Smith+Naphur we design and manufacture technology that eliminates limits on living. The role is part of the Supply Chain Division, responsible for inbound inventory planning to the local and 3PL warehouses, managing inbound logistics until stock is available for sales, and maintaining relationships with third‑party logistics partners.

Responsibilities

Plan inbound inventory for the local warehouse and 3PL warehouse.

Manage inbound logistics activities until stock is available for sales.

Administer long‑term vendor relationships and continuously improve operations using data‑driven KPIs.

Serve as liaison to ensure timely and accurate communication between parties electronically, in‑writing, and verbally.

Collaborate with finance to analyze and resolve cash flow queries, goods‑in‑transit, and inbound freight transport activities.

Manage shipments from supplier to warehouse, achieving OTIF.

Oversee customs processes to ensure timely delivery of inventory.

Control freight forwarder costs such as standing time and delivery costs.

Ensure all international vendor invoices are processed and paid promptly.

Contribute to goods‑in‑transit accuracy and reporting.

Evaluate and lead automation and system improvements across all logistics channels.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience in supply chain or logistics.

B‑Com degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, or related field.

Knowledge of ERP or advanced planning tools a plus.

Strong facilitation skills and ability to collaborate with diverse global teams.

Ability to solve complex problems using business intelligence and data solutions.

Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with all levels of the business.

Self‑starter with a strong work ethic in a fast‑paced environment.

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint).
